Here is a very nice M1 Garand made in 1953. The barrel is dated 12-53, and is marked Springfield Armory. The rifle shows some use but doesn't appear to have any pitting. The stock has its share of nics and dings and has a rack number painted on the side. The metal is in good overall condition. The bore is still bright with good rifling, and some slight darkening. A very nice shooter grade M1 Garand
